Glacier National Park
My favorite National Park that lies in far NW Montana (Going to the Sun Road) is the only access across the park and has a steep drop-off on one side with breath taking scenery. It has more than 300 Grizzly Bears & most of this park is only accessible by foot via a network of well marked trails.

Yellowstone National Park
This huge park which is 63 miles from top to bottom containing geological and thermal wonders that sit atop a dormant volcano. Abundant wildlife and unique features such as geysers, waterfalls, lakes and mountains make this a must-see destination.

Rocky Mountain National Park
Trail Ridge Road is a scenic mountain pass where you'll be reaching 1,200 ft. elevations as you drive past vistas of mountains & valleys. Alpine Visitors Center is one of the best tourist facilities of any park that I've visited.

Grand Teton National Park
At the western part of Wyoming lies one of America's treasures in GTNP with the Teton Mountain Range towering over Jackson Hole with its unparalleled beauty.

Saratoga & Snowy Mtn Range
Located in south central Wyoming, the Platte Valley is one of the state's hidden treasures. Hunting, fishing and Saratoga's "Hobo Pool" are key features of the area.

Lake Michigan Shoreline
Every summer we make at least one trip to Lake Michigan. It's only a two hour drive from home and is the best fresh water, recreational lake in the world. We are fortunate to live so close to this destination of crystal clear water, great fishing and towering sand dunes,

Mackinac Island
If you've never taken the ferry to this island you're missing out. Fudge & ice cream shops, horse drawn carriages and bicycles fill the streets since no motorized vehicles are allowed. Take your wallet and enjoy one of Michigan's most unique vacation spots.

Nashville - Louisville - Muscle Shoals
This album displays Broadway, the skyline and events that you'll experience in this iconic city. There's a tour of the legendary Ryman Auditorium and some shots of the Muscle Shoals, Alabama studios.

Rural Roads in SW Michigan
Fall is the best time to photograph the countryside and enjoy God's painted landscapes.

Flowers - Animals - Nature - Macro
Using my Tamron 90mm Macro Lens I've produced many of these shots. Butterflies, Insects, Frost at below zero temps and general nature photos is what you'll find in this album. There's a whole different world to see when you get down on the ground in the dew laden morning with a closeup lens.

Kayla's Senior Portraits
These images were taken July, 2026 around the Barry County area on a clear Sunday morning.

Flora + Digital Art
Digital creations using Photoshop and ON1 Photo RAW plus natural images of flowers & plants. Most of these were produced shooting mirrorless cameras with some of my new (and older) lenses from both Nikon & Sony.

Maple Syrup Producers
We live in a community where Maple Syrup is produced by several farms and locals. This page covers my visits to some of them back in 2008 & 2009. Vermontville, MI has its annual Maple Syrup Festival on the last full weekend in April.

My Kids
Documenting the growth of my 7 kids over the years has been a welcomed task where being a Portrait Photographer has come in handy.

Studio Examples
In 1988 I opened JH Photographic Studio offering portraits to a small community. Most of my work was initially captured on film but eventually I migrated to Digital Format and learned Photoshop as a creative tool. After closing in 2015 my enthusiasm for the craft diminished until last year but now I'm enjoying the documentation of my travels and sharing those shots & experiences online.

Prairie Rattlers
For several decades I've hunted and captured Rattlesnakes. Some of my images have appeared in Wyoming Wildlife Magazine and it seems that I don't have much competition in this field. Not everyone shares a love for this genre and understandably so but if you can tolerate looking at snakes, they can be as fascinating as they are dangerous.
